#23 Master those skills and build a community

Those are just non-negotiables

Hey, my dear Helios!

In this newsletter, I’m going to talk about the skills you need to master to become a community builder.

While you might think that a community builder needs one skill - community building, you’re absolutely wrong.

Right now I’m going to tell you just about the skills you need for the community itself, not for marketing it to your audience.

Here are the skills that you should focus on mastering:

Sales

As a community builder, you need to be able to sell your vision and the benefits of joining your community to potential members. This requires good communication skills, an ability to identify the pain points of your target audience, and a knack for persuasion.

Writing

While community builders usually don’t write newsletters or blog posts, they’re still talking to the members every single day. That’s why you need to know how to appeal to people in the right way.
You can persuade them, because you’ve got the most of their attention - use it properly.

Memetics

Memetics is the study of how ideas and cultural phenomena spread. As a community builder, you need to be able to create memes and other viral content that resonates with your audience and spreads throughout the community.

Management

Building and managing a community requires strong organizational and leadership skills. You need to be able to set goals, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities to your team members.

Human psychology

Understanding the human psychology is critical to building a thriving community. You need to be able to identify the motivations and needs of your community members and use that knowledge to create a positive and supportive environment.

Mastering these skills will take time and effort, but it's essential if you want to build a thriving community.
Start by identifying the areas where you need improvement and focus on developing those skills.

Over time, you'll become a master community builder and be able to create and manage communities that make a real impact.

Best of luck on your community-building journey!
I’ll see you next Tuesday, as usual.

(From now I’ll post on Tuesday and Friday. Is it convenient for you?)

Yours,
Valeria
